Jean Baptiste Édouard Verreaux (1810–1868) was a French naturalist, collector and dealer. He was the brother of Jules Verreaux (1807-1873).〔''Recherches anatomiques et paléontologiques pour servir à l'histoire des oiseaux fossiles de la France'' A. Milne-Edwards - 1868 "... remercier MM. Jules et Édouard Verreaux de leur utile concours."〕 In 1830 Verreaux travelled to South Africa to help his brother pack up a large consignment of specimens. He returned in 1832 before continuing to Sumatra, Java, the Philippines and Indo-China.
